Privacy Policy

Last updated 26 October 2026

GameStats (“GameStats”, “we”, “us”) provides netball statistics and trial-management software to coaches, clubs, schools and associations. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we look after it, and the choices you have.

It applies to our websites (gamestats.com.au and gamestats.co) and to the GameStats application at app.gamestats.co. We handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles, and we aim to meet the expectations of other privacy laws that apply to our users, including the UK and EU GDPR and the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us. When you contact us, request a demo, chat with us or sign up, we collect details such as your name, email address, phone number, club or school name, role, and anything you choose to include in your message.

Account and billing information. When you create an account we collect your login details and subscription information. Payments are processed by our payment provider; we do not store full card numbers.

Team, player and trial data. Coaches and administrators enter information into GameStats to run their teams and trials — for example player names, team and squad details, positions, game statistics, trial assessments and coach notes. Some of these players may be children. This information is entered and controlled by the club, school or association using GameStats (see section 4).

Information collected automatically. When you visit our website we collect usage information such as pages viewed, links and buttons clicked, referring website, approximate location (derived from IP address), device and browser type. We collect this using cookies and similar technologies (see section 6).

2. How we use information

  • To provide, operate, maintain and support GameStats.
  • To respond to enquiries, run demos and free trials, and send service and account messages.
  • To send product news and marketing, where you have agreed or where the law allows. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.
  • To understand how our website and product are used so we can improve them, including measuring which pages and campaigns lead people to sign up.
  • To generate AI-assisted insights from game data, when that feature is used (see section 5).
  • To keep our services secure, prevent misuse, and meet our legal obligations.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use player data for advertising.

3. Who we share information with

We share personal information only with service providers who help us run GameStats, under contracts that require them to protect it and use it only for the services they provide to us:

  • Vercel — website hosting and delivery.
  • HubSpot — contact forms, live chat, email and customer relationship management.
  • PostHog — product and website analytics.
  • Google (Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics) — website analytics and campaign measurement.
  • Providers of application hosting, databases, email delivery, payment processing and AI processing used to deliver the GameStats app.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights, safety or property of GameStats or others, or as part of a sale or restructure of our business (in which case this policy will continue to apply to your information).

4. Clubs, schools and children's information

When a club, school or association uses GameStats, it decides what player information is entered and is responsible for having the appropriate permission to do so, including consent from a parent or guardian where a player is under 18. We process that information on the organisation's behalf and only to provide GameStats to it.

If you are a player or parent and have a question about information held about you or your child, please contact your club or school first. You can also contact us directly and we will work with the organisation to help.

Our website and marketing are aimed at adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children through our website.

5. AI-assisted insights

Some GameStats features use third-party AI services to produce summaries and insights from game statistics. Before data is sent to an AI provider we remove player names, club details and other direct identifiers. Our AI providers do not use this data to train their models.

6. Cookies and analytics

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to remember your preferences, measure traffic, and understand which pages and campaigns are useful. These are set by us and by the analytics, chat and marketing providers listed in section 3.

Because our website and app are on different domains, when you follow a link from our website to app.gamestats.co we pass an anonymous analytics identifier in the link so we can connect your website visit to your sign-up. This identifier does not contain your name or email address.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Doing so will not stop you using our website, though some features (such as live chat) may not work.

7. Where information is stored

Some of our service providers store and process information outside Australia, including in the United States. When we disclose personal information overseas we take reasonable steps to make sure it is handled in a way that is consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles and, where applicable, the GDPR — for example through contractual protections.

8. How we protect and keep information

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, change or disclosure, including encryption in transit and access controls. No system is completely secure, but we work to keep risks low and will notify affected people and regulators where the law requires it.

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy or as required by law. Account owners can export or delete their data at any time; when an account is closed we delete or de-identify its data within a reasonable period, except where we must keep it for legal or accounting reasons.

9. Your rights and choices

You can ask us to:

  • access the personal information we hold about you;
  • correct information that is inaccurate or out of date;
  • delete your information;
  • stop using your information for marketing, or (where the GDPR applies) restrict or object to other processing, or receive a copy of your data in a portable format.

To make a request, email sam@gamestats.com.au. We may need to verify your identity first, and we will respond within 30 days.

10. Complaints

If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first at sam@gamestats.com.au and we will try to resolve it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au, or to the privacy regulator in your own country.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated. If we make significant changes we will let account holders know.
